AdSense
Ads through Google AdSense were added tot he site on October 20th of last year. Total ad revenue for 6 months is $8.21 so it's not really worth the effort and added page clutter. Ads have been removed from the site and I'll have to work for a living again. Back to being an independent site!

The September 2007 issue of Nordic Reach magazine features an interview with Jan Åke Jonsson, coverage of the European Delivery experience, a brief interview with Steve Shannon and a large 2-page Saab ad. Here are the articles and ad: Link

There was a press event for the Turbo X in Marseille and Saab UK published this press kit on February 12th.



I found a set of four brochures on eBay from 1998. They describe the design, safety, performance and control philosphies of cars made in those years. Quite an interesting read. The first brochure Design is done and can be found here. The other three will follow soon.

There is yet another tweak to the site design to make it visually more appealing. The design has been kept simple by using neutral grey/white background colors with brighter accent colors in the banner and navigation menus. I also changed from using Google text ads to image ads to brighten up the site a little bit and to see if there will be a different advertising content.

The numbers are in and it was surprising to see the steady number of visitors since June 2007.

Unique visitors: 33,382 (steady average of about 4,500 per month
Total page views: 161,147

Top 15 domains from visitors (domain - # of visitors). Only about 50% of visits were traced back to their origin. The total list is much longer and shows visitors of 50 different countries. Amazing!

The most popular pages were the ones with the 2008 9-3 information and 2008 9-3 brochure scan. The Concept Cars and Press Releases are also areas and pages with many visits.

To summarize, these numbers are not huge by any means when compared to other popular websites but it is nice to see visitors are finding the site, stay to browse around and return for more.

EV-1
There is a not much information about the EV-1 concept car from 1985 so it was nice to find these magazine scans in the Stigs scan library. I was trying to find some official information or press release from Saab but wasn't successful. If anyone out there has this information or knows where to find it, please let me know so it can be included on this site.

I normally don't include a lot of non-english information on this site but I thought this article from the Swedish magazine Bilsport has many interesting images: Link

SaabMedia received a large collection of articles and advertisements on DVD from a Saab enthusiast going by the name of Xerofusi on photobucket and Stigs on SaabCentral. This library of scanned images was also mentioned on TrollhattanSaab in this article: Link

As the library of scans is huge, it is bit difficult to find articles without browsing through all of them. After contacting Stigs, he gracefully took the time and effort to put the scans on DVD, sent to SaabMedia and allowed SaabMedia to add them to the website so they will be easier to search and find.

I am testing Google Adsense on SaabMedia.net. I don't have plans to make a living of this website but perhaps it will cover the monthly hosting costs and purchase of new material in the future. The ads actually seem pretty effective and are often Saab related. They are not that obtrusive in the sidebar so I hope they will be of value to visitors.
